We exported tea to Sudan, Egypt, U.S.S.R. and the U.K. and locally supplied tea to many big companies in India such as M/s Lipton’s, M/s Brook-bonds. Under the name of “OSWAL TEA SYNDICATE” (established in 1901) for more than 50 years. We currently export and sell tea in the local and international market in the name of “SURESH &...

The British colonists discovered tea growing wild in Assam and in the 1850s started cultivating tea plantations locally. Historically Indians viewed tea as a herbal medicine rather than as a recreational beverage so consumption of black tea within India remained low until the promotional campaign by the British in the early 20th century, which encouraged factories, mines, and textile mills to provide tea breaks for their workers.
